$1.5 billion commitment to helping conserve 30% of the Earth’s lands and ocean by 2030

As part of its $1.5 billion commitment to helping conserve 30% of the Earth’s lands and ocean by 2030, the Wyss Campaign for Nature is supporting communities, Indigenous Peoples, and organizations that are working to establish, expand, or improve the management of parks and protected areas around the world.

Since launching, the Wyss Campaign for Nature has disbursed and committed more than $1 billion in grant funds. With this support, conservation partners have protected more than 62 million acres of land and more than 1.9 million square kilometers of ocean with conservation projects on every continent except Antarctica. That’s the equivalent of protecting an area of land larger than the State of Michigan and an area of ocean nearly the size of Mexico. The lands and waters that are being conserved through these projects will be permanently protected for future generations.

Periodically, the Wyss Campaign for Nature evaluates new protected area projects and approves new funding in our effort to help reach the 30x30 goal.  Please check this page regularly for updates on the community and Indigenous-led projects supported by the Wyss Campaign for Nature.
